Re: attaque sauvage / sauvagerie (demi orc)

There are 2 types of weapons, melee and ranged. Ranged weapons can be used at range, melee weapons can be used in melee. Some melee weapons can be thrown.
There are 4 types of attacks: ranged weapon attacks, melee weapon attacks, ranged spell attacks, and melee spell attacks.
A ranged weapon attack is any attack made with a weapon that is made at range. This can be with a ranged weapon, or with a melee or improvised weapon that you throw.
A melee weapon attack is any attack made in melee with a weapon. This can be with a melee or improvised weapon, or in theory you could whack someone upside the head with a bow and call that a melee weapon attack with a ranged weapon.
Melee and ranged spell attacks are less codified as to which is which, but are mostly used by spells or other magical effects, and the effect should always specify if you're making a ranged spell attack or a melee spell attack.
Unarmed strikes are special, because while they are not made with weapons (but rather with your body), they are classified as melee weapon attacks. Therefore, an unarmed strike is considered a melee weapon attack but not an attack with a melee weapon.
